Dr. Zhaohua Chang is the Chairman, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Chairperson of GMC. He has over 28 years' experience in the medical device industry, and currently also serve as a professor at School of Medical Instrument, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.
Before establishing Shanghai MicroPort Medical (Group) Co., Ltd. in 1998, from 1996 to 1997, Dr. Chang served as Vice President of Research and Development at Endocare Inc., a NASDAQ listed medical device company based in California. From 1990 to 1995, he served as Senior Engineer, Chief Scientist, Director of Research and Development and Vice President of Engineering at Cryomedical Sciences Inc., a medical device company in Maryland U.S..
Dr. Chang received his bachelor's degree in refrigeration engineering in 1983 and master's degree in cryogenic engineering in 1985, both from University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. In 1992, he received his doctoral degree in Biological Science from State University of New York (Binghamton). Dr. Chang has published extensively in biomedical fields and holds dozens of patents in the United States and in China.
